I have always loved fashion. I dreamed of owning my own store that carried my own exclusive brand.
Upon graduating college, I landed a job that led to that dream, working for an extremely talented person, Lina Lee. I worked at both her New York City location as well as the Los Angeles store. This job was the foundation for my career in fashion retail.
The next step, owning my own store, came true the summer of 1988. I opened an exclusive sweater store in Kennebunkport, Maine.
This is where I gathered most of my experience and knowledge of sweater design and creation. I sold sweaters from some of the best sweater manufacturers in the country.
I learned that novelty sweaters held a particular attraction to most of my customers, and provided me with a real connection with the people I sold them to. People would just “light up” inside when they found “The perfect sweater” that related to them in some way. I was sure this concept could be carried forward to a larger audience.
A few years later, I contacted Home Shopping Network with my idea of selling these novelty sweaters to their audience, and voila! Storybook Knits was born. This line ran successfully for 13 years on HSN.
Now, I am taking my knowledge of designing and producing knitwear to a wider audience. I knew that my customers appreciated the quality and comfort of the Storybook line and wanted to carry that over to a new line. Cozy Chic Collection is the result of 30 years of experience in providing a line of knitwear that not only provides the latest in fashion styles, but also has that comfortable look and feel of the earlier products.
The finest yarns, cottons, woven fabrics, that have the most beautiful hand feel to them are characteristics of the Cozy Chic Collection items. Wherever subtle embellishments add to the design of the clothing, they will be used with taste and fine detail. I look forward to providing my customers with the same attention to quality and comfort that has always been my hallmark.
