I have always loved fashion. Since I was a very young girl I wanted to have my own store that carried my own exclusive brand. Upon graduating college, I landed the job of my dreams working for an extremely talented person, Lina Lee. I worked at both her New York location as well as Los Angeles. This job was truly a wonderful experience for me. My dream of owning my own store came true the summer of 1988. I opened an exclusive sweater store in the town of Kennebunkport, Maine. I truly believe this is where I gathered most of my experience and knowledge of sweater design & creation. I designed and sold to people from all across the United States and abroad. Novelty sweaters were always my favorite items to design and also to sell. I really felt like I had a connection with the people I sold my designs to. This was the genesis of Storybookknits. People just used to "light up" inside when they would find "The Perfect Sweater" that related to them in some way. Each and every time I would have this experience with different customers, I always felt like I would like to reach people on a greater level. A few years later I contacted Home Shopping Network with my idea of selling novelty sweaters. (Each sweater tells a story) made up of different motifs and body styles and voila! Storybookknits was born. My father, Ben, came up with the name and the graphics for the label of Storybookknits. I have always said that I have been blessed with a small amount of talent of which my father has in abundance. He is truly a creative genius. Right now I am having the time of my life coming up with new ideas and designs for the upcoming seasons. Besides spending time with my family and raising my children Michael and Taylor, Storybookknits and traveling for business keeps me very busy. Charities I Support: I am hoping to work with the make a wish foundation this year as well as a literacy program foundation in the United States.
